Towseef Interaction

An Alumni Interaction Session was organized for the 6th & 8th-semester students of the CSE department on the 13th of May 2023. The Alumnus from the 2016 batch - Mr. Towseef Aftal - Software Development Engineer, at Amazon was the resource person for this session.

During the interaction, Mr. Towseef shared how fresher could aim for product-based companies. The alumnus discussed all the profiles that the tech industry offers for computer students. Emphasizing on the coding culture, Mr. Towseef encouraged the students to spend time each day coding and to tackle real-life problems.

The session was then opened for Q&A where students expressed domain-specific and career-related queries.

 

Demonstrating commitment to Digital Transformation through Technology Adoption MIET announces a slew of digital initiatives to mark National Technology Day 2023.

These include:
1. Availability of Mark Sheets and Provisional Certificates on Blockchain with one-click verification
2. Mental Health Helpline and 24x7 Chat Support for MIET students and faculty
3. Setting up AR/VR Center of Excellence in Partnership with Unity Technologies.
4. New Alumni Portal for MIET Alumni with enhanced engagement features.

On the occasion of National Technology Day, the Inaugural speech by the Honourable Prime Minister was broadcasted in classrooms, highlighting the Central Government's efforts to foster innovation in students. The stream covered various technological initiatives undertaken by the government to encourage a culture of innovation. The Prime Minister emphasized the significance of this year's theme, "School to Startups-Igniting Young Minds to Innovate," and stressed the importance of nurturing a spirit of creativity and problem-solving from an early age

MIET has taken the lead in technology adoption which has helped it enhance operational efficiency while ensuring deep stakeholder engagement and delight.

A distinguished guest lecture on the "Durability of the concrete structures", was organized for the students of department of Civil Engineering. The guest for the lecture series was graced by the presence of Prof. Anurag Misra, professor department of civil engineering, IIT Jammu. Prof. Misra has executed more than 200 consultancy projects including the Jaipur Metro Project.
 
The significant insights about the evolving mechanism of durability and the possible solutions to attain sustainability in structures with a special focus on cover zone properties was discussed.
Professor Misra later interacted with the faculties of the CED and talked about the emerging trends in technology and research. He also talked about the onging projects being worked on in IIT Jammu. He also proposed the faculties to join the ICI- Indian Concrete Institute for a life membership and the membership of Institution of Engineers.
 
Prof.(Dr.) Sahil Sahwney apprised the guests about the policy planning of MIET and various supports being provided to the faculties at the central level in this regard.
