The NSS Unit of MIET in continuation of the World Environment Day celebration, today organized a Tree Plantation Drive under the MeriLiFE Mission of the Dept. of Higher Education, Ministry of Education. The event took place on the main college grounds, witnessing the presence of Prof. Sahil Sawhney, G.M. Strategic Initiatives, Prof. Ashok Kumar, Dean of Academic Affairs, and Ms. Surbhi Sharma, HOD of ECE. Adding to the enthusiasm, the students also actively participated in this noble cause.
 
The NSS members and the dedicated faculty ensured the smooth flow of the event, facilitating an impactful experience for everyone involved. Numerous saplings were planted on the main college grounds, fostering a greener and healthier environment for the MIET community.
 
By organizing the Tree Plantation Drive, MIET's NSS Unit, with the support of the MeriLiFE Mission, aimed to create awareness about the importance of tree plantations and their profound impact on society. This initiative strives to inspire individuals to become responsible stewards of the environment and actively contribute towards a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future.

 

Legal Prof. MIET SOL

School of Law, MIET organized a Guest Lecture on the "Topic - Achieving Legal / Professional Excellence". The Resource Person for the session was highly prominent Adv. Sheikh Shakeel Ahmed, Advocate, High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Adv. Shakeel started his professional career in the year 1995 at the High Court of J&K and Ladakh and has been actively practicing civil, criminal, and constitutional law matters. He has been a champion of Public Interest Litigations in J&K and has several landmark judgments to his credit.
 
While embarking upon the topic of Achieving legal/professional excellence, Adv. Shakeel stressed that the same requires dedication, continuous learning, and the development of various skills. He emphasized the importance of ethical conduct and integrity within the legal profession. He further highlighted that maintaining the highest moral and professional standards in our pursuits is of utmost importance. Sir effortlessly blended theoretical concepts with real-life examples, making the subject matter easily relatable and engaging. He emphasized Court Character, in-depth and analytical knowledge of the law, legal research, and characteristics like humility, humbleness, and nothing but hard work as key essentials for achieving legal excellence.
 
The session was very insightful as Adv. Sheikh Shakeel Ahmed shared his invaluable advice and wisdom on navigating the complexities of the legal landscape while upholding the principles of justice and fairness. The session was highly interactive as the students were inquisitive and raised many queries, which were answered by the guest in a very pleasant and interesting manner.
 
 
 
The NSS Cell of Model Institute of Engineering & Technology (MIET) Jammu, in collaboration with the J&K Thalassemia Welfare Society, today organized a successful Blood Donation Camp on the college campus.
The event witnessed overwhelming participation from both the dedicated faculty and enthusiastic students, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to this noble cause.
 
The blood donation camp ran smoothly under the supervision of Dr. Sahil and his dedicated team of medical professionals who worked diligently, overseeing the entire blood collection process and ensuring the well-being of the donors.
The President, Er. Sudhir Sethi, and Joint Secretaries of the J&K Thalassemia Welfare Society expressed their appreciation to MIET College for actively participating in this noble cause and commended the NSS members for their unwavering support and efforts. They highlighted the importance of such initiatives in raising awareness about thalassemia and emphasized the impact that blood donation can have on the lives of those affected by the condition.
