Prof. Deepak Raj Gupta is an experienced educator with 37 years of teaching experience. His educational qualifications include a Ph. D 1991, M. Phil in 1986, M.A. Economics, First-class first 1983, and Management Development Program at IIM Ahmedabad 1995. He participated in the prestigious International Visitor Leadership Programme in the United States in 2006, during which he visited institutions such as Department of Tourism & Hospitality Management at G. Washington University, School of Tourism & Hospitality Management at Temple University in Philadelphia, Wharton Business School in Philadelphia, Kellogg School of Management in Chicago, School of Business Administration at Loyola University Chicago, School of Business & Management at LA Sierra University in California, and United States Institute of Peace in Washington, DC. Prof. Gupta is the founder Director of the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at the University of Jammu and Department of Travel and Tourism Management at Central University of Jammu. Besides, he was the Director of the International Centre for Cross- Culture Management and HRM and served as the Dean of Student's Placement at the University of Jammu. He also holds the position of Academic Administrator at Central University of Jammu and has been the Dean of Faculty of Business Studies and Faculty of National Security Studies in the same university. He has served as member on the Board of Governors for the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management, under the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. Additionally, he has been actively involved as a member in various Task Force and Sub-Committee roles within the All-India Board of Hospitality Management and Tourism Management (AIBHMTM) - AICTE - Govt of India. He has been the Nominee of the Hon'ble Governor on the Court of Indira Gandhi University in Meerpur, Rewari, Haryana, Member of the Planning and Monitoring Board for HPTU Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh. Visitor Nominee for School of Tourism and Hospitality services IGNOU, Delhi. SAP Expert committee member of UGC for HNBGU central University Garhwal and Central University Pondicherry. Furthermore, his dedication to the field of hospitality and tourism management earned him the Himachal Commerce and Management Association (HPCMA) Regd. Management Excellence Award in 2013. He has guided several scholars for their Ph.D. and M.Phil. and is on School Boards, Board of Studies, and Research Councils of various State and central Universities.
